I'm not sure why I started seeking out podcasts in Season 5. But it was only a few episodes into it when I realized that I spent hours over days listening to people talk about Lost or reading what people wrote about Lost. Then once my addiction had begun, I started to prepare myself for the time when my fixes would lapse. People on the podcasts and blogs invited their listeners and readers to connect on Twitter. This seemed to be my inside ticket to Comic-Con and seemed to be the hope I was looking for during the impending hiatus. Twitter delivered. Twitter delivered like a dharma food palate. I have made friends with people in Spain, Belgium, Arizona, Texas and the UK to name a few. It's so amazing to talk to the amazing Lost fans all over the world, every single day.
I've thought about podcasting or vidcasting before, but I knew I'd need a someone to talk to. I can't talk to myself. Boooooring. I have friends that "watch" Lost, but at this point some of us are doing way more than watching. So then the idea was posed that I find a way to talk to some Twitter people over the internets. I could have audio and video and we could all REALLY talk about Lost.
It was the love that exudes from the fan-oriented-ness of LostBlog.com that helped morph the idea. I could talk to lots of Lost fans. I could talk to fans all over the world. With Skype being an easy free download and meshing some photobooths, we could put a face and a voice (with accents) to all these Twitter avatars we've come to know and love. Here's my first example of how this will work with special guests @brunablack and @nelly061.
I'm learning as I go, and I'm super grateful for a husband who's willing to help me along this journey. So I hope fans near and far will find a way to drop me a line, on LostBlog.com, on Twitter, thru email (badmombot@lostblog.com), or even through Facebook. I hope everyone who want to gets a chance to introduce themselves to the fan community.
I'm making calls twice a week on Skype, and using the Mac Photobooth, but I'm sure I could figure out a PC equivalent. No matter how long we talk, I'm going to edit it down to the 10 minute or under mark.
Can't wait to talk to all of you!!
