Here is what Daniel had to say about LOST:
1. How long have you been watching Lost? If you've been watching since thepilot, can you remember your reaction to it?
A. I have been watching Lost sinceseason three. My wife and I watched seasons one and two over a few weeks and gothooked one summer. I remember after watching the pilot thinking, "This may be one of the most unique shows I have ever seen."
2. How did Lost get its polar bear claws into you? What about it got you hooked?
A. Lost got me because of the development of its myth. I began to see connections to our world but was amazed how the writers kept twisting the story and building a new myth of history and redemption.
3. Favorite character?
A. I like Jack and Hurley. I can't really pick between the two.
4. Least favorite character?
A. I dislike Ethan. He is a total tool.
5. Favorite episode or season?
A. I think my favorite episodes followed the story ofMr. Echo. He is the most intriguing character to me.
6. Least favorite episode or season?
A. My least favorite episodes are the recaps! =)
7. Team Jack or Team Locke?
A. Yes.
8. If you have to be one of the following, which would it be and why: an 815 survivor, an Other or a member of the Dharma Initiative?
A.I think I would rather be an 815 survivor. When I think about being an Other or part of theDharma Initiative it makes me think about being someone who seeks to exert my power over another. The survivors didn't choose to come the island (or did they?)but nevertheless they seem to be least likely to exploit the Island for selfishgain.
9. Which character's demise were you most upset to see happening?
A. Mr. Echo's death made me most sad because his story was so intriguing.
10. Tell us a bit about your site, e.g. why you started it, how it runs and your Post-Season 6 plans for it, etc.
A. My site is not really tied to Lost butit has an emphasis on redemption, like Lost.
11. What are your favorite online Lost communities, blogs, podcasts, etc.?(Besides us, of course!)
A. My Lost community exists in real life, I don't reallyfollow any Lost blogs besides you.
12. Tell us something interesting/scary/amusing/downright crazy about howyour place in the Lost fan-verse has changed your life.
A. I have found that Lost isone of the best bridges when meeting new people. It is an amazing culturalphenomenon.
13. You're in an elevator with someone who has never watched Lost. You goton in the lobby and you're both headed to the fifteenth floor. How do you convince them to buy and watch all the DVDs before the elevator gets there?
A. Wow, that's a really hard question. I suppose I would tell them that thisis the best written, most intriguing, myth developing television series ever. Seriously, if you want to understand this crazy world then you need to watch Lost.
14. How do you plan on combatting PLDS (Post Lost Distress Syndrome), or do you think we're all destined to end up continuously re-watching ourLost The Complete Series Ultimate DVD Box Set for the rest of our lives?
A. I thinkwe are destined to watch Lost on DVD forever.
15. What do you think will be Lost's legacy?
A. I think Lost will (and has) becomepart of the language of our culture similar to Star Wars. It will help people tomake sense of the world around them and be a common touch point on issues of faithand science and the dialogue between the two. It will also help to further theconversation of the modern/colonialist and postmodern/postcolonialist.
LOSTblog thanks Daniel for his great LOST interview!
