Also as a counter to the deep back story of Sayid's relationship with Nadia, and the mysteries that come out like a stream of black smoke from Rousseau's lips there is the appearance of Hurley's golf course. Set up beautifully by the stress of trying to survive, Hurley finds some golf clubs, some bright shirts and a couple of poles and creates a golf course. The first island skin game collects quite a gallery of castaways. The counter-balance of the large group of people having fun nicely balances the lonely story of Rousseau and the self-banished Sayid. In the end Sayid escapes and heads back to the beach, only to hear the whispers in the jungle.
