Hi all, and welcome to the new Lostaholics fan addiction site. We humbly started out trying to help Lost fans cope with their addictions to Lost, but eventually we just gave up and decided to embrace our love for this show. If it’s your first time here, look around and have some fun, and don’t forget to visit our forums. You have to register on the forums page, if you weren’t a member before, and then post away! We have a fun and open community and we’d love to have you be a part of it.
Now for the rest of you, who were active or occasional members on the old Lostaholics site. The old site was an “all-in-one” deal, where you signed in with a username and password upon first visiting the site and it gave you access to everything on the site all at once. This sounds like a great feature, but do to the complications of using different software, it always seemed to cause more problems than it helped. Therefore we’ve completely thrown the old site away (trust me, its sitting here in a huge clump in my trashcan). The best way to view our new site is that Lostaholics now features two separate sites in one. First, we have our Blog site, which if you’re reading this, you’re on the blog site now. Then we have our Forum site, where you can discuss lost with one another and grow our little Lost community.
The Lostaholics Blog features a separate login system than the Lostaholics Forum does. This means that your old Lostaholics login will not work on the new Blog. However, it will still work in the new Lostaholics Forum. Below is a breakdown of what each piece of Lostaholics offers, and should help you decide if you need to create a new login for the Lostaholics blog.
Lostaholics Forum
The Forum may look different, but in fact nothing has changed. You should be able to still log in with your old username and password, and you should still see all of your old settings intact. We just changed the way it looks, and “unhooked” it from the old clunky site. To login to the forum, simply go here or click the Forum link at the top of the site.
Lostaholics Blog
The Blog is where we will be posting all of our great Lostaholics content that you have all come to enjoy. Analysis, news, and a variety of other items will all be found here. The Blog features a commenting system where visitors can actually make comments on the articles that appear directly under them. However, in order to stave off spammers, it is necessary to register and log in to the Blog in order to comment. If you NEVER plan to comment on an article, there is no need for you to register, or log in ot the blog. That’s up to you, though we do hope you’ll register and comment often! To register you simply need to click on the “Register” button on the top right side of the home page of the site. You can register with the exact same username and password that you’ve been using in the Forums, if you’d like, assuming no one beats you to it. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be all set to comment on our great Lost articles.
In closing, I’d like to say that we’re very excited about the look and functionality of the new Lostaholics. We realize that change can sometimes be painful, and we’re sorry for any discomfort. We also know that its not fun having to re-register for a site that you think you already are registered on, but it’s only a one time thing, and its not even necessary if you choose not to do it.
