LOST – Watch From The Beginning – The Squeequel

It’s getting to be that time again, the ending of LOST is approaching, and I can already tell there is gonna be some poor addicted fans that will be shivering with withdrawal over the lack of new episodes.  The only proven treatment for these poor souls is a bit of the hair of the dog.  Yes, I’m talking rewatch, I’m taking… We’re gonna have to watch that again!

So drawing on my vast experience as the crazy leader of Twitter’s #WFTB craze, I’ve signed up for the madness again.  But, also with the experience as leader of the crazy #WFTB on Twitter, I’m gonna need some help.  So if you’re interested in helping plan, lead, watch, what not, sign up in the comments below.

Here’s a list of things we’ll need to plan.

• Schedule – no new season so we can stretch this out as long as there is interest.  One episode a week sounds good to me.
• Times – since LOST watching is a world wide fad, we can have re-watches scheduled at different times so people in the UK don’t have to get up at 3AM to re-watch.  A couple of different times a week sounds good to me.
• Leaders – someone needs to promote and lead a time slot.  I can’t commit to being a regular leader (contractual obligations as father and head of the household I live in that have just about fired me for twitter addiction, after thrice weekly WFTB sessions over the summer, fall and autumn then this whole lostblog thang), so this is where I’ll need some help.
• Promotion – we have this handy blog here, and a few people with a few thousand followers to help spread the word.
• Good Attitude – LOST is fun, so be bright and shiny.

More things to follow, but here is the gauge… Are you gonna be like Locke, or like Jack.  This is for sure, the island isn’t through with us yet!

Season 6 We Re-Watch Wednesdays on Chatroll

Only we won’t do it on Twitter.  Which is on the one hand, sad. On the other hand supercool.

We can’t do a episode re-watch on Wednesday on Twitter, because non-US tweeps would tar and feather us for spoiling them when they haven’t been able to see a broadcast.  So we’ll have to move it off twitter.

The supercool part is we’ll be hosting it in our own chatroom.  You can access it one of two ways, right from the blog at http://lostblog.com/lostchat or from the chatroll site at http://chatroll.com/lostblog

The chat room will also be open for ad-hoc meet-ups to talk lost topics or any topics in a more real-time manner than twitter.

The time for the re-watches will be 9PM CST on Wednesday’s.  So keep a copy of the previous night’s episode queued on your DVR.  I’m not sure how fast the previous night’s episodes will make it on Hulu, ABC.com or iTunes, but those might be quick enough.

Last Week for #LOST #WFTB but be on the look out for #WRWW for S6

This is the last week for the haitus long Twitter based re-watch project started here at LOSTblog.com back in May.  Over the past eight months, a group of “die-hard, hard-core, annoying” LOST fans have been re-watching all the episodes of LOST since the very beginning.  We’ve used the hashtag #WFTB which stands for “Watching From The Beginning” and have annoyed all of our followers with endless twitterings about Locke/Flocke, Good/Bad, Black/White, AnaLucia Hate/Love.

It’s been entertaining, and speaking personally, has made the haitus sort of fly by.  (My wife and kids might tell you differently with me hogging the HDTV Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  But Monday night we hit our 100th episode of LOST with The Variable.  And Friday will be a 2 hour long Season 5 Finale session for The Incident.  Then WFTB will be over. 

So, with the end of it looming, the rest of the tweeps have forced my hand (okay it was my idea, sorta) and we will be having weekly re-watches, named approriately “We Re-Watch Wednesdays” (#WRWW).  Starting the first Wednesday at 9PM CST we will continue to annoy and bother all our non-LOST fan followers with a re-hash of the previous night’s episodes.  No DVDs this time, so we’ll be depending on our DVRs (or alternative episodes) to feed our eyes and ears, as our fingers type madly away.

WFTB – S2E19 – SOS

I had to miss this tweet-up because of a prior commitment, but I’m really glad to see the WFTB just keeps on rolling.  And thanks to y’all I’m not feeling all alone on a beach hauling rocks in vain.  You tweeps just keep on keeping on.  This is the only Rose & Bernard flashback we get, I think.  I think their arc is fairly well wrapped up in the final scene of this episode, then in the Season 5 finale where they’re at peace at living together on the island.  To them it didn’t matter that they were no longer in the right time, they were in the place, and that was all that mattered.  While Jack and Kate.. well they still have some work to do.

lostdogs10: @ZachsMind J&K Just met due to a plane crash so yeah there a sweet awkwardness and shyness with them.

ZachsMind: Compare & contrast Rose & Uluru's moment with Claire's time w/Richard Malkin in S1. Rose is far more sceptical.

lostdogs10: @ZachsMind Jack is a gentlemen with a touch of shyness. It's way more sexy to build tension.

ZachsMind: I love how Uluru's room has crutches hanging from the walls & ceilings. interesting this is after a Locke scene.

ZachsMind: "I'm going to tell him you fixed me." A lie, even w/good intentions, is rarely beneficial in the end.

ZachsMind: Kate tells Jack about events in Maternity Leave. I recall being upset how rare characters shared info. long time ago.

ZachsMind: Jack: "When were you gonna tell me about this?" Kate: "When you decided to let me back into the club!"

ZachsMind: This Jack moment is actually very dramatic. Impotent in hindsight, but very well acted and directed.

ZachsMind: The chemistry between Rose & Berrnard is palpable. I honestly don't understand why they can't use them more often.

ZachsMind: Bernard is a man of Do. Rose is a woman of Be. Together, they're Do Be Do Be Do. That's JAZZ, baby!

ZachsMind: Rose is the only one on 815 we know who noticed Locke in the wheelchair. "Trust me" she says to Bernard. "I know."

ZachsMind: "if you can't leave, neither can i. We won't ever leave, Rose." That's love. That's why I keep coming back. Great story.

ZachsMind: "I pressed your button." "It's not my button." Rose gave Locke a shot of Jazz. Shame he turns back to the map.

ZachsMind: Great song for the final tableau. These ending sequences were less common from here on out. Nice touch.

ZachsMind: Again, Jack completely misses the opportunity to just BE w/Kate. "I'm sorry I kissed you." "I'm not." Kiss her you fool!

ZachsMind: And then we get the Michael reveal, and THUD! From this point on S2 is a freakin roller coaster. Thx guys! C U Friday!

ZachsMind: Sun's preg test is a Widmore product. How conv. What's not conv is finding a private place in a jungle w/no bathroom.

ZachsMind: In the FB writers make a point to have the Dr ask Sun about her father. So we see they forever live in Mr. Paik's shadow.

ZachsMind: fallopian tubes? I remembered this playing out diffy. I thought they couldn't conceive because of Jin? damn my senility.

ZachsMind: The "Benry" scenes are even more weighted and cool now that we know who he is. Quite the trickster this one.

ZachsMind: Ana Lucia doesn't make a very good 'good' cop vs bad cop scenario Again, it's like Jack's bad bedside manner.

ZachsMind: In interrogation, Ana Lucia already knew the boys had been playing bad cop So she plays her encounter w/Ben differently.

ZachsMind: However, Michelle Rodriguez plays it via body language so that we see.. Ana Lucia is VERY uncomfortable in good cop role.

ZachsMind: Here's a clearly blatant gag. Hurley & Sun happen upon one another in a gigantic jungle forest. What are the odds?

ZachsMind: Sun's preg test is a Widmore product. How conv. What's not conv is finding a private place in a jungle w/no bathroom.

ZachsMind: In the FB writers make a point to have the Dr ask Sun about her father. So we see they forever live in Mr. Paik's shadow.

ZachsMind: fallopian tubes? I remembered this playing out diffy. I thought they couldn't conceive because of Jin? damn my senility.

ZachsMind: OK Jin's acting like a supreme nut job right here. Who's he think he is? King Henry VIII?

ZachsMind: "I didn't tell anyone Ana" "No worries man" what was that about? Why's Jack saving face over Locke to Ana?

ZachsMind: But she's not happy about it. Look on her face; it's like she feels dirty. Betrayed those she 2 The Others along the way.

ZachsMind: Ana Lucia is a haunted character, and Rodriguez plays that very well. Surrounded by ghosts & regrets.

ZachsMind: Fans of Hellblazer comic might agree: M.Rodriguez would have been a better John Constantine than Keanu Reeves.

ZachsMind: She's not male, british, or good in a trenchcoat, but M. Rodriguez understands how to play haunted.

ZachsMind: I'd like to see Rodriguez & Naveen Andrews working outside the LostVerse. Like a buddy cop film. Spicy chemistry

ZachsMind: Nice psyche on Charlie's part. I'm w/Locke's orig opinion re guns: no one should have one. They're dangerous.

ZachsMind: Maybe Jae Lee's death is what drove Libby insane for awhile? Caused her to spend time in Hurley's hospital? It's possible
