Elizabeth Mitchell Might Just Make It…

…because, according to TVGuide.com’s calculations, Lost will start shooting in Hawaii at the end of August, and V - the new show she is part of - will begin shooting in Vancouver earlier in that month. Add that with the extra hour Lost’s final season is getting, and you can expect her to show up somewhere towards the end of the series.

WFTB – S1E21 – The Greater Good – TweetUp Transcript

lost_wftb2Last night we re-watched The Greater Good the 21st episode of season one. We coming to the final episodes of season one, and this is what I call a chess-piece episode, moving all the people into the right places for the finale. The consensus seems to be that it was good but not as good as Do No Harm.  So read what we wrote, and tell us what you think, or what we missed.  And don't forget to vote for what to do on Friday.

Quick synopsis: The Sayid backstory revealed that Sayid will do almost anything for a chance to be with Nadia.   The island story had a few interesting things happen.  Jack confronted a still blood coated Locke for lying about Boone's injuries. Jack almost exhausted himself searching for Locke, and Kate had to drug him to keep him settled. (hey, didn't Jack get addicted to pain killers? THANKS for that KATE!).  Locke takes Sayid to the plane where they discuss more stuff.  The end result is Locke gets away with lying again.

islandscientist: I'm in for

justinkeyes: @LOST_WFTB I'm in again, finally. I was out of town last week and missed some great eps! Adios, Boone!

Model_Melissa: # we on?

sweetbippy: hellooo you all everybody!!

nancymk: Hi Lost friends! Ready for another live tweet!

LOST_WFTB: @nancymk hiya, glad you could make it.

nancymk: @LOST_WFTB I really look forward to comparing thoughts with other Lost fans!

islandscientist: It's cool that they included Boone in the first scene of the previouslies instead of just seeing him dying.

justinkeyes: Previously on Lost: We said goodbye to poor Boone.

batchoutlost: This ep reminds me of SHO's "Sleeper Cell". It's brutal what Sayid's made to do. Another 2men 1woman power play(s3 1-6)

LOST_WFTB: @eun_hye1 make sure you use the hashtag on your posts to be captured on the blog.

justinkeyes: No eye-opening intro, just Sayid's sad face looking at Shannon stroking dead Boone's hair.

nyakototo: Poor Boone. =(

TheLostBlog: Hey WFTBers

batchoutlost: Jack's bloodlust for Locke is cleverly mitigated by Locke's public confession. Locke knows he has to fall on his sword :P

nyakototo: It's horrible what Sayid has to do, not by any other means but getting him where it hurts.

batchoutlost: So Clever. Make Jack seem like the bad guy by provoking him in public, for the sympathy vote. GET SOME SLEEP JACK! Amen

justinkeyes: Jack's good at walking around in circles, isn't he?

nyakototo: Jack always seems breathless... and hot and miserable.

islandscientist: Boone did fall off a cliff… in a plane. And couldn't he still have gotten his leg crushed falling down a cliff normally?

TheLostBlog: @LOST_WFTB The power of a woman.

nyakototo: You can feel how connected they are in this particular funeral...

sweetbippy: funny how Kate is always the one convincing Jack to do ____ and later on, Jack is the one begging her to comply with _____.

TheLostBlog: I liked Boone a lot more than the first time I watched season 1.

justinkeyes: Booneral. Way to step up, Sayid! Also, I love how "son of a bitch" is the preferred curse on this show.

sweetbippy: Sayid is racking up points with Shannon. Booty call points?

LOST_WFTB: RT @sweetbippy funny how Kate is always the one convincing Jack to do __ & later on, Jack is the one begging her to comply with _.

TheLostBlog: Anyone see Shannon as a 15 year old in the movie Taken? That movie kicked ass.

sweetbippy: in the beginning Jack is still so open and tender hearted, later he is hardened to death and others actions and choices.

TheLostBlog: Instant Poll: Is Sayid the most rational person on the Island?

nyakototo: You are not paranoid enough...

justinkeyes: Turniphead! Hee.

hawaii: The Sydney mosque is a YWCA, and it was also Hurley's institution, Kate's courtroom, Sayid's restaurant... http://bit.ly/JqbHC

nancymk: @TheLostBlog I would say for the most part, he is

TheLostBlog: I think so. RT @nancymk: @TheLostBlog I would say for the most part, he is

LOST_WFTB: RT @hawaii: The Sydney mosque - YWCA, also Hurley's institution, Kate's courtroom, Sayid's restaurant... http://bit.ly/JqbHC

justinkeyes: Um, John? How exactly do you know what it's like to lose family? I hope you're not counting what I think you're counting...

ZachsMind: @TheLostBlog "Is Sayid the most rational..? I'd have to go with yes. Esp. given what I think he did at the end of S5.

TheLostBlog: John needs to change his shirt.

nyakototo: I don't understand how Shannon took that from Locke's confession.

LOST_WFTB: @ZachsMind Hey! you're tweets are back in the search \o/

sweetbippy: way to use your womanly ways to get revenge there shannon.

justinkeyes: Some Oxi-Clean would get that Boone blood out of Locke's shirt. R.I.P. Billy Mays.

TheLostBlog: @ZachsMind Are you implying that the bomb not going off was no accident? If so, I thought the same thing.

sweetbippy: way to go kate, a little sleepy juice for the doc.

nyakototo: I made it happen Sayid and called it coincidence.

Model_Melissa: Hah! RT @justinkeyesSome Oxi-Clean would get that Boone blood out of Locke's shirt. R.I.P. Billy Mays.

sweetbippy: Silly John, you're supposed to use HOT water to get blood out, not cold waterfall water!! What would Heloise say?

justinkeyes: Sayid: "I know when I'm being lied to."

Model_Melissa:

batchoutlost: RE: Funeral attendance/headcount: Sledgeweb's LOST has a great LIST of Survivors at http://lost.cubit.net/count.php

sweetbippy: bingo.

ZachsMind: @LOST_WFTB Yes my tweets are back on the search! \o/ and I'm approx 20min behind you guys. Kate just found Jack. =)

Model_Melissa: @LOST_WFTB i was just wondering that! and he's so shifty when confronted about it

nyakototo: I need a friend like Hurley.

justinkeyes: Hurley: "Made any deposits?" Heh. "I Feel Good (I Got You)" started off pretty well.

sweetbippy: turnip's head got really small all of a sudden...

nyakototo: I'll tell the truth when you confront me about it.

ZachsMind: They sure to plant a lotta bodies on this show. Wow. Locke's a red shirt! llol

batchoutlost: <3 Hurley sings James Brown with Charlie and "Turniphead" - LOL. See also: "Dude pee on it" with Jin

justinkeyes: I love you, creepy John Locke! He's the saboteur! Locke is The Mole!

ZachsMind: Is this the first time we see Jack REALLY lose it? or am I forgetting something from previous episodes?

nyakototo: I like to pretend the man in the back is Jacob, watching them.

nyakototo: I hate bribes, not fate.

sweetbippy: "why don't you trust me, Sayid?" I mean, I just keep sabotaging every thing you all keep doing? The island keeps telling me to.

TheLostBlog: Locke tells the truth...then lies to Sayid's face. He truly has a light and a dark side.

ZachsMind: "damn. I'm out of ammo." "use the crowbar" "that only works on zombies." rotfl

nancymk: @TheLostBlog it seems like a struggle for him from within- good vs evil & we know which one wins

islandscientist: "What if a shark attacks?"

justinkeyes: Walt: "What if a shark attacks?" LOL!

LOST_WFTB: Foreshadowing! RT @justinkeyes: Walt: "What if a shark attacks?" LOL!

TheLostBlog: Would a hot girl really hook up with a guy with fingernails like Sayid?

ZachsMind: "Turniphead" lol! Interesting that people wanted both Jack & Claire to sleep at the same time. Coincidental of course. Maybe.

Model_Melissa: haha this is my favorite scene from Lost, Charlie chasing Sawyer with the baby

sweetbippy: RT @TheLostBlog: Would a hot girl really hook up with a guy with fingernails like Sayid? | LOL!!

justinkeyes: Charlie: "Michael, do you know anything about babies?" Way to throw salt in the wound, Charlie.

LOST_WFTB: hilarious. :D RT @Model_Melissa: haha this is my favorite scene from Lost, Charlie chasing Sawyer with the baby

TheLostBlog: RT @UNEARTHED: @TheLostBlog Sayid is hot, so I vote yes:p You can always manicure that s**t!

sweetbippy: bad editing. they showed the same scene of Aaron during Hurley singing to him while Chuck was following Sawyer around.

nyakototo: @lostdogs10 Interesting Walt observation!

LOST_WFTB: Kate: Brought you something to eat. Jack: What's in it Chloroform?

justinkeyes: @TheLostBlog Sayid has suave confidence, which is how he gets girls. Also, Shannon slept with her "brother"; she isn't picky.

LOST_WFTB: I think this episode shows that for all his 'experience' Sayid isn't a good judge of character or people.

nyakototo: Mentally-emotionally preparing to die against guilt. No comparison. But wow... it's not fair this death.

justinkeyes: I saw that coming the first time. Why didn't Sayid?

nyakototo: @LOST_WFTB I think it comes down to the usual, self interest.

ZachsMind: touching speech Locke gives to Shannon. Not sure how sincere I can take it now.

TheLostBlog: @justinkeyes Ha!

justinkeyes: @LOST_WFTB Really? I think Sayid is a pretty good judge of character.

nyakototo: But no one likes to help a liar.

LOST_WFTB: it's raining... never a good sign.

Model_Melissa: geez I thought he really got shot for a second

ZachsMind: The scene between Locke & Sayid is more meaningful now that we know Locke blindsided Sayid a few episodes ago.

nyakototo: Oh my goose, I love this part! Sawyer's loverly twang and a baby. <3

justinkeyes: I love Sawyer reading bedtime stories to Turniphead from a car magazine.

Model_Melissa: Hell yeah! RT @nyakototo Oh my goose, I love this part! Sawyer's loverly twang and a baby. <3

sweetbippy: funny how the island got Shannon back by her getting shot in the rain by Anna-Lucia huh?? and Lock didn't die? Jack hates him now.

nyakototo: @Model_Melissa :D

justinkeyes: Take it from Boy George, Sayid: "Time won't give me time, but time makes lovers feel like they got something real."

ZachsMind: Sayid was made to sacrifice his friend for one he loved. One could say Locke did the same thing w/Boone for The Island.

ZachsMind: Hurley destroying "I Feel Good" and at the last moment a wave crashes behind them. Could they have planned that? Wow.

sweetbippy: @Model_Melissa Sawyer is so hot that even babies love him!

nyakototo: You are not a good liar Locke. I just don't know how to define that now.

justinkeyes: Sayid: "John, no more lies." Easily my 2 favorite characters in S1 (before "Begins & ends with D" took the top spot in S2).

LOST_WFTB: @justinkeyes I think Sayid thinks he's a good judge of character, but he's always wrong on some small point that is important.

nancymk: John Locke seems to be unable to be hurt or killed on the island

restartt: RT @TheLostBlog: Instant Poll: Is Sayid the most rational person on the Island? either him or Hurley

LOST_WFTB: Sayid thought Sawyer was lying and tortured him. Sayid though Locke was telling the truth about hatches. Sayid misread Shannnon.

nancymk: RT @ sweetbippy funny how the island got Shannon back by her getting shot in the rain too

ZachsMind: most rational @restartt "either [Sayid] or Hurley" Hurley talks to dead people and thinks numbers are cursed. Not rational.

LOST_WFTB: @restartt hurley is a MUCH better judge of character than Sayid.

TheLostBlog: @LOST_WFTB Maybe he knew he was lying about the Hatch from the beginning but didn't want to press it, rather see how it played out.

Model_Melissa: This episode kinda made me think Locke is good, that maybe he hadn't "changed" til Ben kills him after all.

ZachsMind: Locke wasn't particularly scared to give Sayid the gun. He already seems to know he's highly resiliant to harm.

LOST_WFTB: Next is Wednesday 8PM CDT for #S1E22 Born to Run

TheLostBlog: RT @LOST_WFTB: Next is Wednesday 8PM CDT for #S1E22 Born to Run

nancymk: Sayid says to Locke- "John, no more lies"- as if he will listen

ZachsMind: "What if we die?" "We are not gonna die." "Boone died." Once again Michael lies to Walt w/good intentions. Bad move.

TheLostBlog: RT @LOST_WFTB: Don't forget to vote in the poll for when to watch the s1 finale http://bit.ly/4UXSD

Model_Melissa: Ok tweeters, I'm going to make dinner. This episode doesn't really leave much for me to mull over, unlike s1e20.

LOST_WFTB: I'm saying Sayid is all swagger no six-shooter. his plans never work.

ZachsMind: We never found out why Aaron responded favorably to Sawyer. But Sawyer ended up saving the kid in the future at least twice.

justinkeyes: According to the Blu-Ray and Lostpedia, this episode was also known as "Sides" (a nice little play on words there).

DrDreia: @TheLostBlog Sorry everyone for not getting here on time. See you next time. Don't forget to vote #S1E22

ZachsMind: This episode might explain why Sayid told Danielle Rousseau that his Nadia was dead. He lied to Essam too.

DrDreia: @ZachsMind maybe he is the daddy LOL

lostdogs10: @ZachsMind maybe Aaron and sense goodneess in people.

ZachsMind: Would be funny if Aaron grows up to buy that make and model car.

ZachsMind: Would be hard to say Sayid's presence on 815 was controlled. He chose to have it postponed a day.

DrDreia: @ZachsMind it is his destiny. Perhaps this is why he is able to work so well with Ben outside the island

ZachsMind: @LOST_WFTB True. Sayid isn't a born leader or plan maker. When he's a follower, he questions authority. So he's neither. =)

lostdogs10: Jacob always give people choices. Hurly almost didn't make the flight from over sleeping his car breaking down,

LOST_WFTB: @ZachsMind bingo. sayid's a tool. good technician, but not a leader. nor a follower.

ZachsMind: All in all, not one of the better episodes. Seems like a patch between eps. Cleaned up loose ends & sets stage for finale.

lostdogs10: So is Hurly suppose to be on the island

DrDreia: @LOST_WFTB think abt it: this can be said abt Locke, Jack, Sayid and the rest though.

ZachsMind: @DrDreia The writers enjoyed the irony of making Sayid follow Ben's orders, but I was never comfortable with it. Seemed forced.

LOST_WFTB: @DrDreia yeah, they all fall short of what they think they're best at. something we're all good at doing.

DrDreia: @ZachsMind I blv he was forced by his own desire of revenge, not necessarily arm wrestled

ZachsMind: @lostdogs10 "is Hurly suppose to be on the island?" Hard 2 tell. If he was manipulated 2B on 815, Sayid coulda been 2

ZachsMind: That would take way more manipulating than Widmore, Dharma, or even Jacob has shown they can do. Cuz they both chose2go

DrDreia: @LOST_WFTB so is it destiny or is it the island...perhaps

ZachsMind: @DrDreia Not sure I believe in either Island or Destiny. Jacob & Blackie are manipulating time & space thru people. Baaad

One Extra Hour

Lost’s sixth and final season will get 17 episodes, all right, but ABC reps just confirmed to Zap2it the season in question will run for 18 hours, rather than 17. So, sure, a two-hour series finale is very much a given, but in season 5, that two-hour finale was technically two episodes. Just a thought…

Comic-Con 2009: Team Darlton Ready to Tease Season 6

Comic-Con 2008. SL-LOST’s Bif met Damon and Carlton.

Scifiwire.com:

In a separate interview at the Saturns, Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse told a group of reporters that he would not answer any questions about the coming season, not even with vague, dodgy answers. But he promised that he and fellow executive producer Damon Lindelof will be ready to answer questions for fans attending the Lost panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month.

“I hope you’re coming to Comic-Con,” Cuse said in a group interview. “Traditionally, Damon and I go into radio silence this time of year, and then at Comic-Con, we will answer questions. We want to give the fans a chance to speculate and theorize about what they saw in the finale, so we don’t want to kind of be interpreting the finale at this point. Come Comic-Con, we’ll have a few more things to say about what’s going to happen in season six.”

Somebody please ask if we’re going to see what happened if the plane never crashed so Cuse will give us an answer. “Perhaps, or it will be evaded in more elaborate detail,” he said.

HollywoodReporter.com:

ABC Studios is hosting at least seven panels, including one for the final season of ABC’s “Lost,” credited as the first TV show to launch at Comic-Con.

ABC has taken an increasingly unique approach to its “Lost” panel. Instead of simply screening footage and answering questions, the event is a carefully planned production that typically includes specifically shot footage and surprise guests.

“We’ve been working on the ‘Lost’ panel for literally months,” said Mike Benson, executive vp marketing at ABC Entertainment. “We want the audience to experience ‘Lost’ in a fully entertaining way.”

Michael Emerson on Season 6, Jacob, Ben and More

SciFi Wire has published a new interview with Michael Emerson:

As usual, all things about ABC’s Lost are hush hush, lest any posters on the Fuselage message boards get wind of spoilers, but rumors persist that long-departed cast members such as Maggie Grace may return for at least one appearance in the show’s sixth and final season.

First things first though: Are the regulars still coming back? Season five ended with a bomb exploding in the past, possibly erasing the entire present of the show.

Michael Emerson, who plays Ben Linus, confirmed that at least he is still an active part of the show. “My understanding is that I am,” Emerson said in an exclusive interview last week at the Saturn Awards in Burbank, Calif. “For how much of season six, that’s a good question.”

Yes, more cryptic answers from the actor who plays the most cryptic character on the show. He even kiboshed my theory about erasing the present timeline. If the bomb prevented the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, seeing everybody live happily ever after wouldn’t earn high ratings for the finale.

“I could see why you might think that, but from my perspective as playing that character who arrived late on that show, it doesn’t sound terribly dramatic unless there’s something in that equation that I don’t quite get,” Emerson said. “I’m just curious about what dramatic paths we’ll follow.”

One dramatic path might be further explorations of the mysterious Jacob. The fifth season finale revealed Jacob as a corporal presence, but still not quite human. Ben stabbed him, intending to kill Jacob. “I’m still not sure that he’s a person like you and [me],” Emerson said. “I’m still not sure he’s a person like Ben. Is he killable? I don’t know. We haven’t been to his funeral yet so I don’t know. I don’t know where all that’s going.”

Season six might finally give us a Ben flashback. We’ve seen Ben in flash-forwards, sending Sayid on assassination missions and trying to shoot Desmond. We’ve met Young Ben in the past, but we have yet to see Ben flash back to reflect on his own adult life.

“What constitutes a proper Ben flashback?” Emerson said. “There are some gaps in Ben’s bio, and I think we may look backward a couple of times this season. I’m just guessing.”

Don’t expect any big changes for Ben, though. While audiences have seen him go from Henry Gale to the evil leader of the Others to a sympathetic young boy, Emerson has always acted as Ben and will continue to do so. “Ben has always seemed straightforward to me, and I don’t think Ben has changed much over time,” he said. “I think audience perceptions of Ben has changed.”
