Live Tweet Up – Best Practices

lost_wftbMonday's Tweet up was lots of fun.  With the number of people interested in WFTB growing, lets share how we're doing things in Twitter to have a great conversation.  Your input here is greatly appreciated, if you tweet me a good suggestion, I'll add it to this post.  (save me some work though, and hit the comments, or tell me if they're broken :D )

So here's my thoughts.  As people follow @LOST_WFTB, I re-follow if they look like they're interested in our quest.  That's getting harder to do with some bots, marketers, etc that are starting to follow the account. So if you're interested in joining us, pester me if I haven't followed you back.  That way if people want to participate in the Live Tweet they can follow who I'm following and have a good representation of the conversation.

Some other tools that I found useful last time:

TweetDeck: Srsly ubercool (wish it had dual account feature *hint*).  Best practice make a search column with this string "#LOST +#WFTB -valenzetti" (unless you like seeing valenzetti's re-tweets of everything LOST... don't get me started)

Tweetie iPhone app: My constant companion, and multiple accounts are available, so I can tweet as me (@jstueve) or as @LOST_WFTB while waiting for takeout, pickup kids from school, drive tweet, etc.  Search string also work in Tweetie.

If your stuck at the Twitter web account, use the search and search the #WFTB hashtag.  We also may add another per episode hashtag to get all on the same page, or allow people that are behind to filter out live tweets.

Now it's your turn.  What works best for you?

UPDATE: One source for all the episodes of LOST, is ABC. I'd recommend using that if you don't have DVDs or something local, as it will signal ABC they still have people watching the best show ever.  Here is the link

UPDATE: Each live tweet event will use a unique hashtag (i.e. #s1e4) to allow for more characters and enable searching/filtering the live tweets.  Watch for the hashtag during the live tweets, or review them after the event. You can add other hashtags to live tweets if space allows (promotion of the group is a good thing.).
