I hope everyone is enjoying their read of Carrie by Stephen King! From what I’ve gathered in around Twitter is that most of you zipped right through it and are done already! I found that it was a total page turner and finished the book in a day. I’m in the works scheduling a podcast date with Carrie’s book leader our very own WTAL host @erinava, and I’m really excited to talk about it with her.
For those of you planning on reading the book for October, The Third Policeman by Flan O’Brien (and who haven’t read it already) I am suggesting that you go ahead and get to reading.
I started the book three days ago and have just now made it to Chapter 5. If you thought Slaughterhouse Five was disjointed, The Third Policeman is disjointed but without the framework or formula provided by Slaughterhouse Five. As of Chapter 5, I’m completely confused and I can see that I will need another reading so as to not throw the book’s leader (@LOST_BOSS) completely under the bus.
For those of you who have already read it, a few words of encouragement in the form of a comment, voicemail, tweet or email would be greatly appreciated (click for contact info here at the bottom of the page). It is my understanding from lostpedia.com that neither Damon nor Carlton actually read the book, but that LOST script writer put the book in for a “very specific reason.”
